It’s true! We found out that our family of Shane + I will be welcoming a little BOY Pip in March! I wanted to share the news, and really can’t contain my excitement. We have thought from the beginning it was a BOY – and I really wanted a mini-Shane running around the house (I mean, look at that photo! Who can resist?!). Can’t wait to meet our little BOY.

I’ve begun to pin more & more BOY stuff, and this only adds to my excitement. No pink & ruffles at my house! Only tweed, leather arm patches, suspenders and bowler hats!

You can check out more of my pins on my KIDlet Pinterest board – let the fun begin!

It’s been a wild year. Quit my full-time job, started my own business, travelled to Europe, moved across the country and now: we are having a baby! It’s crazy and beautiful and wild and scary… We are super excited to meet our little “Pip”! We are almost to 14 weeks, and it’s been an amazing ride so far.

My plan is to not turn this blog into a baby blog, but I may share a few things here and there! I hope you won’t mind. I’m not a person who ever saw themselves as a mother, I always knew we’d have kids and I could instantly picture Shane as a father but never visualized myself as a mother. It’s going to be a journey but I’m excited for the news to finally be “OUT” so I can start pinning baby stuff on Pinterest! ha

It’s been a special year, and I’ll never underestimate the change that can happen in 365 days…

I’ve been MIA the past few weeks, for a variety of reasons. Two of the biggest are:

1. Moved my whole life across the country. I now live in Toronto. It’s crazy!

2. I went to Vegas for a huge conference with the church I attend, and we learned and played and walked the strip!

Both of these things are huge steps and big money commitments, but taking big steps and making sacrifices ALWAYS brings huge rewards. I’m not going to lie, moving away from my family and friends and familiarity is REALLY hard. But it’s also been the most rewarding thing: I’m learning so much about myself and the people that made this journey with me. It’s just me (& Shane), this city and the few friends I have surrounding me right now. Anything is possible, because EVERYTHING is unknown. And then right before we moved I went to a conference in Vegas, again sounds crazy, right?! The conference was a big money commitment, but completely worth it. I left the 5 days in Vegas with so much inspiration, knowledge and excitement to tackle my move and the new life I’m creating in Toronto.

What’s next? I am currently trying to make the trek to NYC for a few days next week for another big conference: IFB Conference! I’ve been watching it online for the past two conferences, and I can’t wait that I may be able to see it LIVE. There is so much more you get out of it by being there in person. Fingers crossed life all falls into place and I can jump on a plane on Monday! Either way, if you can make it work, I HIGHLY recommend it. Here is a bit more info and even a discount code!! >

Hope to see you there! If you are going, let me know and we should grab a coffee or lunch!

I love reading, but busyness during the year often trumps sitting down with a good book. However, during the summer, I really try and switch that. We all need to slow down, right?

Here is my summer reading wish list (clockwise from top left):

IQ84 by Haruki Murakami / Brand Thinking and Other Noble Pursuits by Debbie Millman / Night Circus by Erin Morgenstern / Living with a Creative Mind by Jeff & Julie Crabtree
